Time Pieces with Plumier touches

At the Basel Switzerland watch fair this year I saw some attention grabbers but feathers used as a design element?! This seemed like a totally wacky idea but turns out quite beautiful and intricate.  New York jeweler to the stars, Harry Winston, asked French Plumier, Nelly Saunier, to use her talents to create art within the tiny space of a watch face. I am told that a Plumier is an artist who works in plumes. Oh how French! Here is a traditional wrist watch with a satin band and a pendant with diamonds and peacock feathers.

Christian Dior showed this pretty pink feathered number with a white ceramic band and a diamond bezel. But you won’t see these at your local retailer. These birds of a feather are limited to a few pieces or one of a kind.

Answer to the last where in the world: Florence Italy.
